The Blackhawks won their 4th game in a row, snapping the Wings 6 game winning streak beating the Red Wings at The Madhouse on Madison 2-1

Tuesday night was mixed bag of emotions for Wings fans, the return of Jimmy Howard in net and the loss of Pavel Datsyuk for 2-3 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. The knee scope came as a surprise to this fan, but it was just a cleaning that needed to be done, it's the perfect opportunity to get it done, in order to have Datsyuk back 100% before playoffs. The Hawks also without Captain Jonathan Towes, day to day with an upper body injury.

"Today had nothing to do with no Pavel," Babcock said. "We didn't play. If you don't play, you're not going to win. That's the toughest effort we've had in a long time. We've lost games on the road when we were better than that."

But you could tell Datsyuk was missed, he commands a lot of attention in the offensive zone, and without him the offense seemed to stall at times. The only marker for the Red Wings came off the stick of Valtteri Filppula in the 1st period. Jimmy Hayes tied the game in the 2nd and Marcus Kruger put the hawks ahead in the 3rd. Both Blackhaws goals came off of rebounds; Jimmy Howard looked sharp in his Red Wing return after missing 3 weeks with a broken finger.

"I felt good," Howard said. "Surprisingly I felt a lot better than I thought I was going to feel. They were good goals for them, guys just crashing and that's how you score in this League."
