High Hopes For Van Riemsdyk in 2012-13
Traded to the Leafs a day after the draft this offseason, James Van Riemsdyk has high hopes from fans and GM Brian Burke. Drafted by Philadelphia 2nd overall during the 2007 NHL entry draft, Van Riemsdyk hopes to have a career season with the Leafs.
Known as JVR. Burke added the 6ft'3 23 year old from Middletown, New Jersey as apart of the Leafs succes to help them become a playoff contender as they once were. After playing the last three seasons on the left wing, head coach Randy Carlyle announced his intentions on playing JVR at center. Burke was sceptical on his coaches decision as he is shopping for a number one center.
JVR is known as a rising star for the Leafs after scoring 11 goals and 13 assists in 43 games. Came off injury while going into the playoffs, JVR has high hopes at scoring 60 plus points in 2012-13.
