Reports indicate that the injury the veteran Flames netminder suffered during Tuesday's game verse the Red Wings is related to the MCL in his knee but is not considered to be serious at this point. The Flames are awaiting further tests and information.

"In the second period, I felt some discomfort in the lower body area, said Kiprusoff in a statement on Wednesday. "During the intermission, it was decided that I not return to play. I really believe that this is a short-term injury and over the next days, I'll work toward being ready as soon as possible."

Flames announced today they have signed goaltender Danny Taylor to a one year, two-way contract for $525,000/$80,000. He has played a total of 120 career AHL games registering 59 wins along with a 2.32 GAA and a .914 save percentage. This season, Taylor is second in the AHL with a 1.77 GAA and fourth in save percentage .930%.
