James Neal recorded a goal and one assist as Pittsburgh used a three-goal third period to defeat Carolina, 4-2, at CONSOL Energy Center. Steve Sullivan, Pascal Dupuis and Jordan Staal lit the lamp in the final 20 minutes for the Penguins, who have won four straight games. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 16-of-18 shots for the victory. Tuomo Ruutu and Tim Brent scored for the Hurricanes, whose two-game win streak was halted. Pressed into service because of games on consecutive nights in two locations, Justin Peters took the loss despite making a career-best 48 saves.

Steven Stamkos netted a pair of goals and Mathieu Garon stopped 31-of-32 shots as Tampa Bay bested Philadelphia, 5-1. Bruno Gervais, Steve Downie and Vincent Lecavalier also scored for the Lightning, who had dropped two in a row and four of six coming in but dented Philly netminder Ilya Bryzgalov for five goals on just 16 shots. Scott Hartnell's first-period goal was the lone offense for the Flyers, who have lost four of their last five.

Pavel Datsyuk and Niklas Kronwall scored 56 seconds apart in the third period, boosting the Red Wings to a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues. Nicklas Lidstrom had the other goal for Detroit, which rallied from a two-goal deficit to win on back-to-back nights. Jimmy Howard stopped 29 shots for the Red Wings, who earned a 4-1 triumph at Nashville on Monday. It was Detroit's 11th straight home victory. The Red Wings haven't tasted defeat at Joe Louis Arena since November 3, 4-1 against Calgary. Matt D'Agostini and Alexander Steen lit the lamp for St. Louis, which won its previous two games. Brian Elliott also made 29 saves for the Blues, who had a much different result at Joe Louis Arena than the last time they visited the Motor City.
