Like the surprises there are bound to be some disappointments performances by some teams or players that's not up to par to what we have expected so lets go through them all shall we

5. Eric Staal: Carolina Hurricanes

Was it Eric Cole leaving for Montreal? giving his brother Marc a concussion? Whatever it is something just doesn't look right and Jeff Skinner is still producing at the pace of last year and Eric has put up at least 70 pts in the past 6 years. While he seems to be showing signs of life lately but he's currently on pace for his lowest point totals since his 31 point total in his rookie year

4. Alexander Ovechkin: Washington Capitals

Oh you didn't think I could get though this without you now would I. You're supposed to be the 2nd best player in the league and you're not even the best player on the team right now. And you're 55th in the NHL in scoring with 21 points which is the same amount of points that defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron of Tampa Bay has. Yeah enough said

3. Columbus Blue Jackets

While they have performed better as of late the early season disaster going 7-4-2 since November 15th when they only had 5 points in their first 15 games which pretty put permanently killed any momentum from their off-season acquisitions of Jeff Carter and James Wisniewski

2. Ryan Miller: Buffalo Sabres

He's just coming off a concussion but even his play before that have been very disappointing with a 7-6-1 record, he's 42nd in the NHL in GAA with 2.80 and 39th in SV% with .910 for one of the NHL's elite goalies and a team that had such high hopes from the off-season these are way below his career averages.

1. Anaheim Ducks

Well whatever happenned to you guys this was a cup contending team the last few years and last year had the Hart Trophy winner Corey Perry, with him Bobby Ryan and Ryan Getzlaf one of the most dominant lines in the NHL. Lubomir Visnovski(even though he was hurt he wasn't doing much before that with only 4 points in 16 games) and Jonas Hiller before getting in contact with Vertigo was one the best goalies last year and a NHL All-Star has been terrible so far and his GAA of 3.11 and SV% of .900 are way off his career marks(he's in 2 of my fantasy yahoo teams so I also feel the pain in that too).  They have a record of 8-15-5 the 2nd worst record ahead of only Columbus and by 1 point and considering this is the exact same roster with 2 real major additions of Kurtis Foster and Andrew Cogliano with a this team by far for me is the biggest disappointments at this point of the season.

And thats without even getting the Randy Carlyle firing in maybe Bruce Boudreau will be able to help fix whatever is wrong with these guys
