This year has been nothing but up's and down's for NHL fans. With the lockout now over we can finally look forward to the NHL season. Here is a look at how the Jets performed last year.

Key Arrivals: F Olli Jokinen, F Alex Ponikarovsky, G Al Montoya, G Mark Dekanich

Key Departures: F Tanner Glass, G Chris Mason

Key Decisions: Signed G Ondrej Pavelec and D Tobias Enstrom to 5-year extensions, signed F Evander Kane to 6-year extension.

2011-12 record: 37-35-10, finished 11th in Eastern Conference

This is the second year in the NHL for the "new" Winnipeg Jets. Everyone is expecting a down season and some people are predicting last in not only the division but in the league. I do not see why? The Jets have a young group of players who are looking to mature. I mean in terms last year was a pretty good first year. Even without a playoff spot they competed every night and finished the season with a winning record.

The biggest problem this offseason for the Jets has been some of the players being arrested. Dustin Byfuglien and Ondrej Pavlec were arrested for alcohol related matters, and Evander Kane's got in some trouble with his tribute to Floyd Mayweather.

Pavlec is the biggest question for the Jets this season. The Jets were fourth worst in goal against average in 2011-2012 but were in the middle of the pack in shots allowed.

With the additions of Oli Jokinen, Alex Ponikarovsky, and Mark Scheifele could help out this attack a little bit.

Playoffs are definitely questionable and like what Pavlec said yesterday "we have to start fast, and end faster". This is the key. Can they do it? I hope so. Will they do it? We will have to wait and see.

Until then, Go Jets Go!
